Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is seeking dependable Dining Utility Team Members for full-time or part-time employment.
Brethren Village offers Dining staff $1.00 extra per hour for weekend work and every other weekend off. Full-time Team Members receive generous benefits coverage and paid-time-off.
The Utility Team Member works independently, in various dining areas. The Utility Team Member keeps dishes and utensils, counters, floors, and equipment in kitchens and dining areas clean and in a sanitary condition. The Utility Team Member also receives deliveries and tracks inventory; delivers items to various dining areas and restocks dining areas; takes out trash; delivers meals throughout the campus; assists as needed during Dining functions and catered events.
Utility Team Members must be able to carry trays, push carts, stand and walk frequently during their shift, and follow safe food handling protocols.
Work Schedules
Applicants must be able to work every other weekend and holiday, and during the week.
- Full-time, benefits-eligible, year-round: 40 hours per week, including early morning and afternoon hours - hours and work days will vary a bit from week to week, and will include every other Saturday and Sunday, and every other holiday
- Part-time: 8 to 32 hours per week, including early morning and afternoon hours - hours and work days will vary a bit from week to week, and will include every other Saturday and Sunday, and every other holiday
Core Requirements:
- a high school diploma or G.E.D., or currently-enrolled student
- basic computer skills: the ability to access and navigate web sites, and use software, apps., and databases independently
- the ability to complete online training independently
- dependability: ability and willingness to meet attendance standards
- attention to safety: ability and willingness to consistently work in a safe and alert manner, and to report to work fit for duty; commitment to wearing protective equipment as required for the position and adhering to all health and safety standards
- commitment to treating each Resident, Team Member, and member of the Brethren Village community with respect
Additional Requirements for this Position:
- must be willing and able to work in a safe and hygienic manner at all times, consistently following Brethren Village protocols and sound food-safety practices
- must be able to work independently: manage own time and workload; use computerized databases and apps. independently; make day-to-day decisions with minimal supervision

must be able to safely stand, walk, bend, lift, carry trays, push carts, carry boxes, and reach on a frequent basis during an up to 8-hour shift
- must be able to work every other weekend and holiday
- for some positions: a valid PA driver's license is required (must have possessed a driver's license for at least the past 2 years); personal auto insurance; and a driving record free from a serious or excessive violations

Please note: Applicants who are offered employment must be able to attend a 2 to 3 hour pre-employment appointment during the morning or early afternoon (if under age 18, a parent or guardian must also attend), and participate in an orientation session from 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on a Monday.
