Property Manager: Landscape Maintenance

Position Summary

Join a well-established and growing landscape company dedicated to delivering exceptional service and creating beautiful outdoor environments throughout Southeastern Wisconsin.

The Property Manager: Landscape Maintenance is responsible for the overall success of a portfolio of commercial and residential landscape maintenance accounts by leading Foremen and field crews, building strong client relationships, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the company's quality standards.

This is a hands-on, field-based leadership role, with approximately 75% of time spent on client properties overseeing crews, conducting site visits, communicating with clients, and resolving issues. Success in this role requires strong leadership, proactive communication, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience while identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts.

The ideal candidate enjoys developing people, solving problems, building lasting client relationships, and leading by example.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Project & Crew Management

  • Lead and direct landscape maintenance and enhancement crews.
  • Manage landscape maintenance & enhancement projects, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess project progress and proactively address issues.
  • Assist with scheduling, workflow coordination, and maintaining efficient daily operations.
  • Ensure company quality standards and safety expectations are consistently upheld.

Client Relations & Sales

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients through excellent communication and service.
  • Provide estimates and proposals for enhancement projects and additional services.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancement sales within the existing client base.
  • Assist in achieving departmental sales and renewal goals.

Training & Team Development

  • Train and mentor team members to ensure safety, efficiency, and overall job performance.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing development of field employees.
  • Promote a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.

Field Support

  • Provide hands-on support during peak workloads or when operational needs require.
  • Assist with landscape maintenance activities including mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, mulching, and seasonal cleanup.
  • Troubleshoot field challenges and help crews find practical solutions to keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure equipment is properly maintained and utilized.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of experience leading landscape maintenance crews or managing field operations.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising employees and developing team performance.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience preparing estimates, proposals, or identifying opportunities for additional services.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Comfortable working 75% of the workweek outdoors (in varying weather conditions) visiting client properties, leading crews, and supporting field operations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic technology.

Preferred

  • Experience in commercial landscape maintenance or related field service operations.
  • Knowledge of plant identification, horticulture, irrigation, or turf management.
  • Experience with snow removal operations.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Landscape industry certifications are a plus.

Environment & Physical Demands

Ability to perform physical labor and assist crews as needed.

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions for extended periods.
