Location Requirement: This position requires the individual to reside in the state of Montana. Position Summary The Claims Assistant is responsible for processing insurance claims involving minor injuries, performing clerical duties, and supporting claims representatives. This role ensures timely and accurate claims handling, billing, and documentation in compliance with company protocols. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned as needed. Process claims involving minor injuries and/or “pay and close” claims. Examine claim forms and related records to determine insurance coverage. Ensure claim file documentation and reserves are current and accurate. Review and process medical bills and other claim-related expenses. Issue payments to claimants and providers. Refer complex claims or those requiring investigation to a supervisor or Claim Representative. Handle phone inquiries and billing disputes in accordance with company procedures. Assist Claims Examiners with medical bill processing and filing. Provide general clerical support to Claim Representatives. Education and/or Experience One-year certificate from a college or technical school; or Three to six months of related experience and/or training; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
