Industrial Maintenance Technician
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to support our Hope, AR, manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery, production equipment, and facility systems. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude, takes pride in preventative maintenance, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Technicians may be required to support multiple departments and shifts based on production needs.
Essential Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial machinery and equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic).
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to maximize uptime and equipment reliability.
- Dismantle, repair, and reassemble machines, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and production equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Install and repair electrical components, including motors, sensors, switches, control devices, and basic PLC-related hardware.
- Use electrical testing equipment (multimeters, meters, and diagnostic tools).
- Bend, cut, and install conduit and wiring for machinery and facility needs.
- Perform basic welding and fabrication to repair or modify equipment and fixtures.
- Maintain facility systems, including plumbing, compressed air, and building infrastructure as needed.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in compliance with safety standards.
- Accurately document maintenance activities and communicate issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Follow all established safety, quality, and environmental management systems. Support production changeovers and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or trade school preferred.
- Manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industrial systems: motors, gear reducers, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documents.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring devices.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work any shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Basic computer skills for work orders and documentation.
- Plastics or high-volume manufacturing environments strongly preferred .
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Frequently exposed to moving machinery, elevated work areas, and electrical systems.
- Must be able to climb ladders and work on raised platforms.
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally more than 100 lbs with assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in industrial conditions, including heat, noise, and airborne particles. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
