Brent Scarbrough & Company is looking for a highly organized, people‑focused Human Resources Manager to lead our HR department and field operations across multiple heavy civil construction job sites.
The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of human resources functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance management, and organizational development. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of human capital management, employment law, and HR systems to support the company's growth and ensure a positive work environment. The HR Manager will collaborate with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute talent acquisition strategies, including recruiting, sourcing through ATS platforms like iCIMS, Lever, Workday, and Oracle HCM.
- Manage employee orientation programs, onboarding processes, and ongoing training & development initiatives.
- Oversee performance management systems and employee evaluation processes to promote productivity and professional growth.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including FMLA, workers' compensation, and other leave policies in compliance with employment & labor law.
- Lead change management initiatives and organization design projects to support strategic planning efforts.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by managing employment law adherence, OSHA standards, HR legal compliance, and affirmative action planning.
- Handle employee relations issues with conflict management skills while maintaining a positive workplace environment.
- Maintain HRIS systems such as ExakTime, SAP SuccessFactors, UltiPro, Dayforce, or ADP for data collection, reporting, and payroll processing.
- Support HR sourcing efforts through social media management and employment branding strategies on platforms like Salesforce or LinkedIn.
- Conduct data analysis using Excel or other HR analytics tools to inform decision-making processes.
- Collaborate on succession planning initiatives to identify future leaders within the organization.
- Manage administrative functions related to contracts, data entry, and documentation accuracy across various HR systems.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in human resources management within a dynamic organizational environment. Experience in Heavy Civil Construction companies preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment law in talent management, labor relations, and compliance standards such as OSHA regulations.
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, UltiPro) and payroll systems (e.g., ExakTime, Paychex, ADP).
- Demonstrated skills in project management, strategic planning, organization design, and workforce management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Experience with conflict management and employee relations best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field; advanced certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP) are preferred.
