Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Only driver to join our team. This role involves transporting porta john's efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely delivery while providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, warehouse operations, and handling heavy loads, with a focus on route driving and load management. Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks or similar vehicles for delivery purposes, including manual transmission vehicles and
driver assignments - Load and unload goods using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques, ensuring proper safety procedures are followed
- Manage route driving efficiently, adhering to scheduled delivery times and optimizing routes for timely service
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries by maintaining professionalism and addressing customer inquiries or concerns
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as inventory management, moving stock, and organizing delivery loads
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety and compliance with transportation regulations
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy lifting, moving items, and operating commercial vehicles
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Attention to detail, using a tablet and filling out paperwork
- Experience w/ Detroit Metro Area ( preferred)
Experience
- Prior experience as a delivery driver or courier is preferred, especially with box trucks or similar commercial vehicles
- Demonstrated ability in warehouse operations including loading/unloading, forklift operation, and pallet jack use
- Experience in route driving with a focus on efficiency and safety
- Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques and safe manual handling practices
- Familiarity with driving manual transmission vehicles is a plus
- Customer service experience is desirable to ensure positive interactions during deliveries
This role requires a dedicated individual capable of managing physical tasks such as heavy lifting and moving items while maintaining excellent driving skills. Candidates should be committed to safety standards and providing outstanding service throughout their routes.
