This position is a 0.6 FTE and is 4.5 hours/day with 183 base contract days (180 student days 3 Professional Development days) and 3 supplemental days. This continuing position has the possibility of becoming a 1.0 FTE for the 2026-2027 school year. BREMERTON SCHOOL DISTRICT 100-CJOB DESCRIPTION – SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for a variety of duties related to the evaluation of students with communication delays/disorders and IEP design and implementation.This includes:Administering tests and interpreting results related to educational progressScheduling and attending meetings with parents and staff as required for evaluations and IEPsProviding therapy for identified studentsReporting progress at district directed intervalsReports to and evaluated by: Building Principal or DesigneeRESPONSIBILITIES:Evaluate and provide therapy for students with speech and language disordersParticipate in a multi-disciplinary team (including psychologists, occupational therapists, general education teacher, etc.) approachDevelop and write reports and IEPs in compliance with state and district guidelinesSupervise and train SLPAs and other staff as neededParticipate in the professional SLP communityEngage in on-going professional developmentCounsel and guide parents, students and staff regarding speech and language disordersQUALIFICATIONS:Masters Degree in Speech and Hearing SciencesPossess or qualify for an Educational Staff Associates credentialOUR SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY DEPARTMENT:Values team work within the SLP communitySupports CFY certification and mentorshipPractices equitable caseload distribution *If you have not been issued a Washington State ESA Certificate but you are in the process of applying and/or finishing your program, please attach a document to your application in the Certificate Attachment section explaining your status*5/2017
