Quality Manager

Brella Beverage
Itasca, IL Full Time

AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/6/2026

Position Summary

Brella Beverage is a rapidly growing adult beverage manufacturing and co-packing company. We're creating a dedicated Quality Manager role to own our quality programs: batch record review, CAPA and deviation management, clearly writing reports, SOP governance, and audit readiness. You'll take ownership of strengthening our quality infrastructure into a mature, self-sustaining program as Brella grows. This candidate should have a strong understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and FDA regulations and guidelines.

Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Systems & GMP Oversight

  • Own and continuously improve Brella's quality management system across our facilities
  • Provide day-to-day QA support during production, including in-process checks and line sign-offs
  • Ensure GMP compliance across batching, bottling, labeling, and packaging operations
  • Maintain product specifications and ensure all runs match signed client Product Data Sheets

SOP, Record, & Documentation Review

  • Draft, review, and maintain SOPs related to quality, batching, sanitation, and production (building on Brella's existing SOP library)
  • Ensure SOPs stay current as lines, products, and regulatory requirements evolve
  • Partner with production leadership to ensure SOPs are trained on and followed on the floor
  • Review and approve batch records, proofing/blending logs, and production documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Oversee quality disposition (release/hold) decisions for finished goods across both facilities
  • Monitor data integrity practices across paper-based and digital production records

CAPA & Deviation Management

  • Lead root cause investigations for quality incidents (e.g., mislabeling, out-of-spec results) and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to closure
  • Own Brella's corrective action framework and CAR (Corrective Action Report) process
  • Track and report quality metrics — CAPA closure rates, deviation trends, and effectiveness checks — to leadership

Regulatory & Audit Readiness

  • Support TTB, Illinois ILCC/DSP, and applicable regulatory compliance
  • Prepare and maintain audit-ready documentation; support regulatory inspections and third-party audits
  • Stay current on evolving regulations and flag operational or compliance risk to leadership

Supplier & Incoming Material Quality

  • Review incoming material Certificates of Analysis (COAs) against spec
  • Support supplier qualification, quality agreements, and vendor quality assessments

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner closely with Operations, the plant floor team, and the COO to resolve quality issues without slowing production unnecessarily
  • Own client-facing quality commitments — understand spec requirements by SKU/client and ensure the floor executes to them
  • Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance
