Position Summary
Brehm Preparatory School seeks a passionate and collaborative Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) Teacher to provide individualized instruction and support for students with learning differences in a college-preparatory environment.
Under the direction of the Director of Education, the teacher will develop and implement engaging instruction, support IEP/IHEP goals, monitor student progress, and collaborate closely with families and interdisciplinary teams to ensure student success.
Key Responsibilities
● Plan and deliver differentiated instruction based on individual student needs
● Develop lesson plans, assessments, and progress monitoring strategies
● Support and implement IEP/IHEP goals and accommodations
● Maintain accurate student records, progress reports, and semester grades
● Collaborate with faculty, dorm staff, therapists, and families
● Foster executive functioning, self-advocacy, and organizational skills
● Create a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
● Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school activities
● Support extracurricular programs and school community events as needed
Qualifications
Required:
● Illinois Professional Educator License with LBS1 endorsement
● Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
● Knowledge of learning disabilities, differentiated instruction, and IEP processes
● Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Preferred:
● Endorsements in English, Math, or elective areas
● Experience working with students with learning differences in a therapeutic or specialized setting
● Experience writing and implementing compliant IEPs
Schedule
● Full-time, 10-month academic position (August–June)
● Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
● Occasional evenings/weekends for conferences and special events

Pay: $57,183.00 - $68,123.00 per year
