What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reporter position at Brehm Communications?
The Wickenburg Sun, a weekly newspaper in western Arizona, has an immediate opening for an experienced reporter who is self-motivated. The reporter must be willing to spend time outside the office and available for day/night and/or weekend work as needed for proper coverage of local news, meetings and events.
The position is a full-time job that requires a variety of journalism skills from reporting on government affairs and writing compelling features on local issues to covering sports, special events and breaking news. Photography skills, multi-media and social media experience is a plus. The candidate must have strong grammar skills and be AP-Style proficient.
The Wickenburg Sun is an award-winning publication. The newspaper has been honored numerous times by the Arizona Newspaper Association and the National Newspaper Association. Publications include the The Wickenburg Sun, Destination Wickenburg magazine, and numerous other publications.
Located approximately 40 minutes from the Phoenix metropolitan area, Wickenburg offers a small town, Western atmosphere with multiple recreational opportunities, including team roping, trail riding, hiking, bicycling, three great golf courses, and much more. We are also home to lots of friendly people.
We offer benefit and retirement packages, and paid vacations. This position is open and needs to be filled immediately. Candidates from surrounding area are preferred. We do not offer relocation reimbursement.
