Responsibilities
- Greet customers, understand their projects/needs, and guide them to specific products (fasteners, power tools, etc.)
- Handle cash register operations, including cashiering, cash handling, and processing transactions accurately using a POS (Point of Sale) system
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers with work orders
- Assist with merchandising and stocking shelves to maintain an organized and attractive sales floor
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels, conducting stock replenishments, and organizing shelves/displays for optimal presentation
Experience
- Prior retail sales experience preferred, especially in a hardware store environment
- Prior construction, plumbing, electric and/or HVAC experience preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, and basic retail math is essential for smooth transactions
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, and maintaining organized retail spaces enhances your effectiveness in this role
