B.G. Brecke, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented, organized Staff Accountant to join our dedicated team. The Staff Accountant will be instrumental in helping the finance team maintain accurate and efficient accounting strategies across the organization. A qualified candidate must be able to adapt quickly and have a proactive approach to our customers’ rapidly changing needs.
This is an in-office position Monday-Friday from 7:30 am-4:00 pm; some flexibility is available.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive support for accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll, and service dispatch operations in addition to the preparation, monitoring, and issuance of purchase orders (POs).
- Assist in the preparation and processing of daily cash deposits to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
- Prepare, reconcile, and post general ledger accounts.
- Assist with account analysis and financial reporting, including work -in -progress (WIP) reporting.

- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and additional account reconciliations as required with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ensure accurate invoice sorting, coding, and prompt data entry into the accounting software.
- · Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies by accurately reconciling customer accounts, statements, and invoices in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain audit readiness by conducting periodic reviews and internal audits to uphold internal controls and compliance.
Education and Experience
- Associate in accounting, finance, or related field required.
- Bachelor’s in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- One to two years of related accounting and/or finance experience preferred.

- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to interruptions in a fast-paced environment, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and practices.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically in Excel, with the ability to quickly learn and efficiently utilize in-house programs.
