Key Responsibilities Medical Scribe & Clinical Support
- Pre-chart patient visits by reviewing intake forms and medical histories in the EMR
- Accompany the physician during patient visits to document histories, exams, procedures, and treatment plans in real time
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all clinical documentation
- Assist physicians with EMR navigation, labs, imaging, and prior records
Patient Care Coordination & Front Office Support
- Greet and check in patients with warmth, professionalism, and discretion
- Serve as a compassionate point of contact for patients navigating breast reconstruction after cancer treatment
- Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and schedule appointments efficiently
- Perform initial clinical triage of incoming patient calls as appropriate
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front office environment
Insurance & Administrative Support
- Verify insurance benefits and document authorization details accurately
- Maintain up-to-date patient records within the EMR
- Cross-train in additional administrative functions to support team coverage
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office or patient-facing healthcare role
- Strong written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, multitasking clinical environment
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
Preferred
- 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or Medical Scribe
- Experience in plastic surgery, reconstructive surgery, oncology, or surgical specialties
- Proficiency with EMR systems, scheduling software, and insurance verification
- Demonstrated ability to communicate compassionately with patients facing serious medical diagnoses
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
