Position Summary

Job Description Summary:

The Janitor U750 is responsible for cleaning and maintenance of Breakthru Maryland’s warehouse and office buildings.

Schedule: M-F 8am-4:30pm

Pay: $19.57/hour

Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

Maintains cleanliness of the warehouse and office space.

• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums the floors
• Empties trash and garbage containers.
• Sanitizes and disinfects
• Ensure bathrooms are clean and filled with paper products and soap
  
  

Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to plumbing, lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.

Collects excess cardboard and uses bailer to bundle and prepare for recycling

Assists in moving furniture, file cabinets, etc. when necessary.

Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder’s supervisor, may also be required.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or equivalent
• No prior experience required
• Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
• Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience maintaining cleanliness and order for a large business
• Knowledge of chemicals and supplies
• Ability to handle heavy equipment
  
  

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to
• Stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities are required which include, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Talk, hear, and use hands and fingers.
  

Competencies

• Accountable for meeting own targets, work is reviewed periodically.
• Problems encountered will be defined, repetitive, and routine with a solution readily available.
