Job Responsibilities
Direct supervision of Maintenance and Diesel Mechanic staff.
- Train, coach, and motivate direct reports to deliver maximum productivity, service, and profitability.
- Build and maintain relationships with key customer service contacts at both supplier and transportation companies.
- Negotiate and implement vendor contracts.
- Manages the interior & exterior cleaning of the Cicero facility, Including landscaping & snow removal.
- Implement and track program for care, maintenance, and safe operation of all building equipment & warehouse systems.
- Manage all recycling initiatives: plastic, glass, corrugated, pallets, etc.
- Maintain accurate records including DOT fleet records and mechanic records.
- Ensure trucks are properly maintained and legal on the road including repair and annual licensing.
- Conduct fire inspections
- Ensure compliance on Federal, State, and Local laws and ordinances in executing building operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business management
- Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software
- Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
- Analytic and Reporting skills
- Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment
- Comprehension of building system operation
- Ability to read and understand financial statements and reports
- Supervisory experience
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone
- May help coordinate the work of junior members of the team.
- Resolves issues which are often varied and non-routine. Undertakes analysis and investigation to solve issues.
