Behavioral Therapist / Mental Health Practitioner
Breakthrough Therapy Center – Rochester
$19.00 – $24.00 an hour – Full-time, Part-time
Job Summary
Breakthrough Therapy Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 2 Behavioral Therapist / Mental Health Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide one-on-one therapeutic services to children with Autism and related developmental disorders. This role requires a passion for mental health, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct 1:1 behavioral and mental health support to young clients
- Implement treatment plans under clinical supervision
- Conduct regular progress monitoring and documentation
- Communicate professionally and sensitively with clients and their families
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards
- Participate in ongoing training, team meetings, and supervision
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to optimize care
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Experience working with ASD children
- 18 years or older and have completed the Level III EIDBI training requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Passion for supporting children with Autism and developmental needs
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in a mental health-related field with 2,000 supervised hours
- Experience or training in ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis)
- Experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply (Oromo, Somali, Spanish, Hmong, Arabic)
Pre-Employment Training and Certification Requirements
Candidates must complete the following certifications and trainings prior to beginning work. These requirements may be completed after an offer is made and during onboarding, but must be completed before the first day of work. These requirements are classified as pre-employment and unpaid.
- Mandated Reporter Training
- Vulnerable Adult Mandated Reporter Training
- TrainLink courses including:
- EIDBI 101 for Providers
- Cultural Responsiveness in ASD
- Coordinating Services in ASD
- ASD 40 Hour Training
All required links and instructions will be provided during onboarding if the candidate does not already have them.
