Breakthrough Learning Center is a family oriented, private tutoring center. Psychological learning concepts along with the new Common Core standards are our main focus at Breakthrough Learning Center. In order to aid students in life, we work through all factors that create the student’s systematic world. Not only do we aid students in their schoolwork, but we also mentor our students so that they create effective life long skills.

Breakthrough Learning Center provides academic support along with diverse classes for grade levels K-12 in all subjects offered by the California State Common Core Standards curriculum. We are seeking dedicated instructors who are competent in specialized subjects, or multi-subjects. Instructors need to have a strong ability in giving direct instruction, ability to engage students, and ability to be adaptive in any situation.

Breakthrough Instructors are role models who can bring out the highest potential in students, motivate students, and inspire students to work for their future through a strong foundation in education along with life skills to help them succeed. We have flexible and consistent hours for part time positions.

Job Description

• Provide instruction to students in assignments provided by school or other academic disciplines.
• Academic Disciplines offered: K-12 Language Arts, Math, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Standardized Test Prep, AP Prep, and SAT Prep.
• Provide One-One, Classroom (5 Students Max), or Closed Group Tutoring Sessions.
• Coordinate and facilitate learning activities for students of all grade levels.
• Offer homework help support for all grade levels.
• Aid with Education Coordinator in building strong curriculums for students and creating individualized supplemental material.
• Learn Breakthrough methodology and be able to perform using new Common Core learning techniques provided.
• Morning, Afternoon, and/or Weekend Hours.

Job Qualifications

• Professional individual with Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree.
• Expertise in variety of disciplines.
• Teaching Experience Preferred.
• Ability to create individualized lessons according to each student’s learning style.
• Ability to effectively break down lessons and teach it in a meaningful way to the students.
• Motivated, Reliable, Committed, and Consistent individual who can relate and build strong rapport with diverse population of students.
• Highly skilled, versatile, and easily adaptable individual who displays deep Passion for helping students to reach their goals.
• Strong communication skills and classroom management skills.
• High intuitive skills through experience of working with children and teenagers. Instructor needs to be aware of emotional, mental, and behavioral needs of students to create an effective environment for students to learn in.
• Instructor is committed for summer tutoring sessions along with school year tutoring sessions.
• Proven track record of dependability and professionalism.
• Must be able to pass assessments in mathematics and language arts along with background check.
