About the Role
Breakthrough Behavioral is looking for a compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to provide hands-on, skills-focused support to children, adolescents, their legally authorized representatives (LAR), and the communities they live in. This role is centered on empowering clients, enhancing daily functioning, and supporting their journey toward independence, resilience, and overall wellness.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver skills-building services that strengthen client capabilities and promote personal growth.
- Support recovery by encouraging positive change, independence, and self-directed living.
- Provide services in client-centered locations, including homes, schools, after-school programs, or daycare facilities.
- Review treatment plans with clients and LARs, clarifying goals, interventions, and progress.
- Maintain accurate daily schedules in Simple Practice to prevent conflicts.
- Document services under Progress Notes in Simple Practice, following professional standards; complete notes within 48 hours, and finalize corrections within 24 hours.
- Record all non-session client or LAR interactions in Contact Log promptly.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and treatment plan reviews, providing updates and input.
- Ensure treatment plans are reviewed and updated with clients whenever revisions occur.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 2 years of direct mental health experience working with children, adolescents, or families.
- High school diploma or higher.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current vehicle insurance.
- Ability to pass a background check according to local regulations.
- Negative Tuberculosis (TB) test required prior to employment.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification required upon hire.
