Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items following established recipes and standards, including grilling, braising, poaching, and food production techniques
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as grills, fryers, ovens, and food prep tools
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety sanitizing procedures and food handling regulations to ensure a clean and safe environment
- Assist with menu planning and meal preparation for high-volume service periods
- Serve customers promptly at the window, providing friendly and efficient service while managing cash register operations if applicable
- Ensure proper food presentation and portion control according to recipe guidelines
- Support dietary department needs by understanding dietary restrictions and assisting with special meal preparations when required
Requirements
- Previous experience in food industry roles such as dietary aide, restaurant cook, or catering is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures
- Skilled in various cooking techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and general food preparation
- Demonstrated knife skills and ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
