What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vending Route Specialist position at Break Time Vending Services?
Summary
Primary responsibility is to maintain fully stocked, clean and working vending machines on a pre-designated route, as well as maintain customer service and relations. The Route Specialist is also responsible for documenting machine readings, collecting monies, inventory control, stocking truck and completing their route within their normally scheduled hours. Candidate is also responsible for keeping vehicle clean and orderly and obeying all traffic laws. Additional responsibilities include accurate recording of machine audit information.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Services and stocks coin operated product vending machines.
- Collects, secures, and transports funds removed from serviced vending machines to employer.
- Operates motor vehicles to transport materials and equipment.
- Monitors shelf life and sales of products to minimize spoilage losses.
- Maintains accurate records of truck inventory and product movement to machine inventory.
- Resolves customer issues concerning vending products and machine malfunctions.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Ability to calculate numbers, correct entries, and post to records.
- Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of coin-operated vending machines.
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to secure and handle cash.
- Ability to drive motor vehicles.
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
- Ability to make independent, routine procedural decisions.
- Ability to identify and resolve routine operational problems.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Conditions of Employment
- Possession of a valid Florida driver's license with good-standing record.
- Minimum of three (3) years driving experience
- Able to work independently, responsible for completing vending route, work unsupervised the majority of the work day.
- Understands importance of meeting deadlines and commitments.
- Must speak English well enough for good customer communication.
- Requires moderate physical work; moderate lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 40 pounds.
