Retail Operations Assistant (Break Boss Cards & Collectibles – Wilkes-Barre, PA)

About the Role

Break Boss Cards & Collectibles is growing fast — and we’re looking for a motivated, innovative, and team-oriented Retail Co-Pilot to join the squad at our brand-new Wilkes-Barre hobby shop. This isn’t your average retail position. We want people who bring ideas, initiative, and energy every day — individuals who want to grow with the brand, not just work for it. You’ll help run the front counter, engage with customers, support live-stream fulfillment, and represent Break Boss both in-store and on camera across our social media platforms. There could also be opportunities to represent the brand at major card shows nationwide, such as The National (Cleveland & Chicago), The West Coast Card Show (Los Angeles), and the Dallas Card Show. This is an in-person, front-of-house position — not a warehouse or picking/packing job. Applicants must be 18 or older and have their own reliable vehicle for occasional off-site work and travel.

Customer Experience & Sales

• Greet and assist customers with enthusiasm and professionalism

• Operate the register and POS system for sales, returns, and exchanges

• Help collectors find products, singles, and supplies

• Deliver a fun, engaging, and knowledgeable hobby-shop experience

Store Operations & Merchandising

• Restock shelves, showcases, and displays daily

• Maintain organized, clean, and accurately priced product sections

• Communicate restock needs and assist with new product drops

• Help design creative displays and in-store promotions

Live-Stream & Social Media Support

• Collaborate with breakers and stream teams during live shows

• Assist with product hand-offs and order packaging (front-of-house only)

• Comfortable being on camera — occasional appearances or product demos on TikTok, Instagram, and other social media

• Contribute ideas for social media content and shop promotions

Brand Representation & Events

• Represent Break Boss at local and national card shows

• Engage with customers, vendors, and fans to promote the brand

• Assist with setup, teardown, and booth operations

• Maintain a professional, positive presence wherever the brand goes

Maintenance & Store Care

• Vacuum, clean, and maintain all customer-facing areas daily

• Keep counters, showcases, and packaging stations organized

• Assist with event prep and store resets

Teamwork & Innovation

• Communicate proactively with management and teammates

• Bring new ideas — displays, marketing, workflow, or community engagement

• Be reliable, driven, and accountable — no slackers, no coasting

• Help build a fun, creative, and growth-focused culture

• Must be 18 years or older to be considered

• Must have a reliable vehicle (some local and national travel required)

• Comfortable and confident being on camera / appearing in video content

• Strong interest in sports, sports cards, or trading card games (Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, etc.)

• Prior retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred

• Knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets is a plus

• Excellent communication and multitasking skills

• Creative and forward-thinking — not just here to “do the job”

• Dependable, punctual, and professional demeanor

• Comfortable using POS systems, label printers, and basic tech

• Open availability, including weekends, holidays, and special events

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods

• This is not a warehouse or backroom position
