What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at Break Awayz?
Job Summary:
Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests. Each server’s primary objective is to show our guests such a marvelous time, they will want to return.
Activities & Responsibilities:
Primary
- Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the Break Awayz Employee Handbook
- Monitor and observe guests dining experience to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service, respond promptly and courteously to correct any problems.
- Collect payments from guests.
- Write guests’ food orders on order slips, memorize orders according to customer seating area, enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.
- Prepare checks that itemize the total meal costs and sales taxes.
- Take food or beverages orders from guests.
- Check guests’ identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
- Serve food or beverages to guests and prior to leaving table is there anything else they require.
- Present our Menu Book to the guests and point out our touchless menu. Also answer questions about menu items, Bottles/Cans Beers, and our Tap menu located in the menu book.
- Inform guests of any menu changes and recommend our featured specials and make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
- Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining.
- Prepare hot and cold drinks for guests, recommend our bottles of wine.
- Roll silverware, set up food stations or set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for any large parties.
- Stock service areas with supplies such as condiments, sauces, tableware, and items needed for service.
- Explain to guests how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
- Prepare tables for meals, including placing napkin dispensers at each table
- Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, take them to kitchen for cleaning.
- Answering the phone within 3-rings to take to-go orders and or answering any questions. Using a friendly tone and greeting and thanking the customer at the end of call.
- Perform cleaning duties according to the side-work for your area, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming floors, tidying up server station, taking out trash, or checking and cleaning bathroom.
- Make mention of our beers on draft or our wine selection.
- Perform food preparation duties such as desserts, tea’s and brewing coffee.
- Escort guests to their tables if an opportunity arises.
- Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers.
- Roll flatware if you have a moment between table seating.
- Describe and recommend wines/craft beers to guests.
- Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
- Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
