What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bakery Packager position at Breadsmith of the Twin Cities?
Excellent position for early risers!
- $16.50 per hour base (plus earn tips when covering the retail counter)
- 4:00am to 12:00pm
- 40 hrs: Wednesday through Sunday, Off on Monday and Tuesday
- 32 hrs: Sunday through Wednesday
- Must be able to work this schedule year-around
Day Packager:
- Package commercial orders for restaurants, hotels, grocery stores, and wholesale accounts according to the invoices/packing slips made for that day
- Work with the Packaging Lead, Store Manager and Production Manager to identify and solve any timing or quality issues that may arise
- Tally daily commercial orders and pull all necessary products
- Communicate with baking staff to make sure all necessary product is being made
- Communicate with counter staff to make sure commercial product is pulled aside as it comes out of the oven
- Ensure product is packaged correctly as stated on the invoice - paper vs. plastic, handle bags vs. black trays
- Act as a quality control person, ensuring all product that goes out for delivery is up to our high standard of quality
- Communicate with the delivery drivers about which orders we have for the day so they can determine optimum driving routes
- Work with delivery drivers to make sure deliveries get out of the door on time
- Distribute any leftover commercial product either up to the retail counter if it is product we can sell in the store or bag up for donation
- Cashier/Customer Service duties to help cover breaks of Counter Staff
- Tidy, sweep and clean the back packaging room and packing table so it is ready for the following shift
