Job Summary

Under the direction of the Assistant Principal, perform secretarial duties to assist the Assistant Principal in a variety of duties and responsibilities; serve as liaison between administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents and the public.

Requirements / Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Must have at least one year of clerical or secretarial experience

  • Resume
  • Typing Certificate (Minimum 45 WPM; dated within one year of posting date)

Comments and Other Information

Location: Brea Olinda High School Work Schedule: 8 hrs./day, 5.0 days/week, 10.5 mos./year Schedule: 7:30 am - 4:00pm Sick leave and vacation are earned on a prorated basis. There is an available insurance policy for hospitalization, major medical, dental, vision, and life. School employees must join the State School Employees Retirement System. California School Employees Association Agreement Article VI, 6.1.3 states: “Voluntary transfer/promotion requests by an employee for an opening shall be given prior consideration over a new employee.” Article VI, 6.3.2 states: “When a new position is created or an existing position becomes vacant, the District shall first offer the opportunity to transfer or to seek promotion to bargaining unit employees.” All applicants must possess the personal qualifications generally recognized as essential to become an understanding public employee including integrity, initiative, dependability, courtesy, good judgment, and ability to work with others. Applicants may be rejected on the basis of an incomplete application or failure to meet the minimum posted qualifications. Individuals meeting the minimum and/or preferred qualifications will be contacted after the closing date for testing.
