Job Summary

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, provide instructional support and assistance to teachers and students assigned to a designated special education instructional program; perform a variety of support activities related to behavior management and classroom instruction of special education students; assist in the preparation of instructional materials.

Requirements / Qualifications

** Applicants may be rejected on the basis of an incomplete application or failure to meet the posted qualifications. ** Eligible applicants must have completed one of the following: * Associates Degree; OR * 48 College Units; OR * High School Diploma and Passage of the NCLB (ESSA) Paraprofessional Test. BOUSD offers the NCLB (ESSA) Paraprofessional Test to applicants for FREE! Testing is scheduled weekly.

3.5 - 6.5 hour/day positions available Sick leave and vacation are earned on a prorated basis at a rate of one day per month. California School Employees Association Agreement Article VI, 6.1.3 states: "Voluntary transfer/promotion requests by an employee for an opening shall be given prior consideration over a new employee." Article VI, 6.3.2 states: "When a new position is created or an existing position becomes vacant, the District shall first offer the opportunity to transfer or to seek promotion to bargaining unit employees."
