What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entitlement Specialist - Beaver Pond Residence position at BRC - Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc.?
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as advocacy for all clients seeking entitlement and benefits. Act as a liaison with SSA and HRA. Responsible for keeping clinical team and clients updated on government and agency changes
- Assist Clients with navigating and obtaining entitlements and benefits such as Medicaid, Medicare; SSD/SSI, SNAP and cash assistance
- Assess Clients eligibility applications and assist with the application process and document submission
- Accompany Clients to entitlement/benefit related appointments
- Create referrals to government agencies such as HRA, DMV, Vital Records; Social Security
- Act as liaison with SSA and HRA
- Input client's income into CARES & AWARDS
- Monitor and keep appropriate records of recertifications for all benefits
- Assist Clients with creating access HRA and social security online accounts
- Assist Client's with requesting Awards letters, Budget letters and proof of pension
HOURS:
Full-time 37.5 hours per week
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday- 9am-5:30pm; Tuesday & Thursday- 11am-7:30pm
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma required, BA preferred. Entitlement experience required (Welfare, Medicaid, Veterans, etc.). Driver's license preferred.
- Vaccination preferred but not required.
