General Summary:
Performs electrical and plumbing work and other maintenance projects.

Essential Duties:
Troubleshoots electrical failures and removes and replaces faulty electrical components;

Changes ballasts, tubes, and light bulbs;

Performs plumbing work installs and all types of plumbing repair;

Assists with basic carpentry work including hanging pictures and plaques;

Monitors and maintains electric locks on county buildings;

Reads and interprets blueprints and written instructions;

And confers with supervisor concerning construction, alteration, maintenance, and repair projects.

Other Duties as assigned.

Education
Required: High school graduation or its equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Required: At least three years of experience.

Required: Texas Journeyman Electrician license.

Typical: Methods, practices, and equipment used in cooling and heating systems installation, maintenance, and repair. Safe operation of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and written instructions; operate electrical and plumbing equipment; apply safety standards to prevent hazards; estimate time and materials for projects; communicate effectively; tolerate adverse working conditions; work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers.
