What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Coordinator - Brazos Center position at Brazos County?
General Summary:
Primarily responsible for managing weekend and evening events at the Brazos Center and supervising and directing the building attendants.
Essential Duties:
Performs all event coordination functions for the Brazos Center including serving as a primary team member in event management and evaluation;
Is responsible for serving as the primary contact person for all clients after the event is booked and the deposit is received;
Assists customers as needed on the telephone and in person with planning events to be held at the Brazos Center, including explaining all policies, procedures, and contract requirements;
Assists the Scheduler in coordinating and maintaining the master schedule of all events in EventPro;
Generates contracts and invoices and sends them out in a timely manner;
Responsible for training, scheduling and supervising the part-time/temporary Building Event Workers;
Assists in interviewing, and conducting staff meetings with the Building Event Workers;
Works with and supervises the part-time/temporary Building Event Workers and full-time janitorial staff in planning and coordinating set-up and tear-down activities for events;
Submits security needs to the Sheriff’s Dept. at the end of each month;
Responsible for seeing that final payments are received from all customers;
Must be present to greet customers before and after most events;
Exercises discretion and independent judgment as necessary in performing professional responsibilities;
Must be willing to work various hours as needed including nights, weekends, holidays, etc.;
Performs follow-up calls to customers after events and maintains accurate communication records in EventPro;

Education
Required: High school graduation or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
