What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Machinist position at Brayton Energy?
We are seeking a skilled machinist with CNC & CAM experience. The ideal candidate will have exceptional manual machining, honing and grinding skills. 3 & simultaneous 4/5 Axis CNC experience also highlight desired. Programming using CAMWorks is a bonus. We have a small, but well-equipped machine shop, managed by one exceptional machinist. Either senior or apprentice-levels may be considered.
Manual machining experience and the ability to operate a lathe and Bridgeport (not just CNC operating experience) is required. Must be able to interpret drawings and GD&T specifications. The ability to independently design and make fixtures and tooling is highly desired. Ideally a candidate coming from a Tool and Die environment would be a good fit. Machining of castings and nickel alloys also highly desired.
Programming experience is a huge bonus, but not required. The right candidate would be trained in this aspect. Do not apply if you are looking for production work, solely CNC operation, or other engineering process or development roles. We are not a job shop or manufacturer. We machine prototype, first of kind hardware with aerospace tolerances. Please be honest and truthful with background and experience to avoid wasting our time and yours. The candidate will go through a series of machining tests during the interview process to validate their experience.
