What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Process Development Engineer position at Brayton Energy?
Brayton Energy develops innovative advanced-cycle gas turbine products for a variety of customers and marketplaces. As part of the R&D staff a Process Development Engineer will work with other engineering staff members and with experienced technicians to develop, qualify, and document processes, including QA, for construction of novel high-temperature compact heat exchanger prototypes to be tested in advanced energy projects. Successful projects may transition to serial production, requiring the transfer of manufacturing technology and recommendations for economical manufacturing methods, and strategies for managing growth. This will require coordination with customers to understand their objectives and constraints. Further involvement with engineering and supply-chain staff regarding turbomachinery components should also be expected.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with heat exchanger designers and other R&D staff regarding configuration options, factoring risk, economics, schedule, and resources to meet project objectives.
- Assist with project planning in the proposal phase and after contract award.
- Coordinate the selection, installation, and commissioning of new capital equipment.
- Design tooling to facilitate processing efficiency and accuracy.
- Prepare work instructions and routing within the ERP system to inform operators and collect data regarding execution time and cost.
- Create cost models for serial heat exchanger manufacturing.
- With customers objectives and constraints, prepare production scenarios factoring growth rates, financial exposure, and schedule.
Professional Requirements:
- Engineering degree (from ABET accredited institution) is required. Working knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication techniques, mechanical assembly, and technical drawing interpretation are required job skills. Prior production management or manufacturing engineering work experience (3 years) in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Demonstrated team building and interpersonal skills are required. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and concern for accuracy, and strong written and oral communication skills are also required. Previous direct experience with supply chain management and ERP software is desirable. Experience with ISO process controls or with fabrication of electronic assemblies, a plus.

Starting salary range of $90,000 - $115,000 per year, based on level of education completed, and years of relevant experience.
