Job Summary
The Special Education Secretary provides comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Special Education Department under the direction of the Director of Special Education. This position serves as a key point of contact for staff, parents, and community members, acting as a liaison and informational resource regarding Special Education programs, services, and procedures. Responsibilities include preparing and processing Individualized Education Program (IEP) documentation, maintaining accurate departmental records and confidential student files, and entering and updating student information in the Student Information System (SIS) and Special Education Information System (SEIS). The Special Education Secretary ensures the efficient operation of the department by providing exceptional organizational support, maintaining compliance with applicable regulations, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality services for students with disabilities. **Please note: Main communication will be via telephone and email. Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and two years clerical or secretarial experience involving frequent public contact.
