Job Summary:
We are searching for a skilled and dedicated Interim Director of Nursing who will be responsible for overseeing all nursing operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and managing the nursing staff at our facility. This role will serve as a temporary leader for our nursing department during a period of transition or absence of the permanent Director of Nursing.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory standards
- Monitor and evaluate nursing practices to ensure compliance with best practices and quality standards
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care and interdisciplinary team meetings
- Manage staffing levels and ensure proper nurse-to-patient ratios are maintained
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to nursing staff- Handle any escalated patient care issues or concerns
- Oversee employee training and continuing education programs
- Work closely with senior management to provide updates on nursing department operations and performance
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid state license
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nursing management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards for healthcare facilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in budgeting and financial management for nursing departments
