Duties
- Prepare pizza dough, sauces, toppings, and other ingredients following established recipes and standards
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and slicing tools safely and effectively
- Cook pizzas using various techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and baking to achieve optimal flavor and presentation
- Maintain strict food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new pizza recipes or modifications based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Monitor food production levels during high-volume service times to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Adhere to food handling guidelines and recipe adherence to maintain consistency and quality across all dishes
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially with pizza or similar cuisine preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures
- Culinary experience with skills in grilling, braising, poaching, and other cooking techniques required for diverse pizza preparation methods
- Proven ability to operate kitchen equipment efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Familiarity with food industry standards related to food handling, recipe adherence, and meal preparation
- Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide roles is a plus but not required
- Excellent knife skills and high-volume production experience are highly valued for this role
