What You'll Do
As a Master Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of foreign and domestic vehicles. This position requires strong diagnostic ability, advanced mechanical skills, and the ability to mentor less experienced technicians when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose complex drivability, electrical, and mechanical concerns
- Perform advanced repairs on engines, transmissions, drivetrains, suspension, steering, and brake systems
- Complete engine and transmission replacements
- Perform timing chain/belt, cylinder head, and internal engine repairs
- Utilize scan tools, diagnostic software, lab scopes, and manufacturer service information
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical repair procedures
- Conduct vehicle inspections and provide accurate repair recommendations
- Communicate clearly with Service Manager and Parts Department
- Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and shop quality standards
- Help mentor and support other technicians if needed to help complete jobs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications:
- 5 years of professional automotive repair experience preferred
- Proven experience performing diagnostics and major mechanical repairs
- Strong understanding of electrical, drivability, and engine management systems
- Ability to diagnose issues efficiently and accurately
- ASE Certifications preferred (Master Certification is a plus)
- Automotive technical school education preferred
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Own professional-grade tools required
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and positive attitude
