The Scheduling Coordinator is a foundational front office role responsible for creating a smooth, organized, and welcoming patient experience while maintaining an accurate, efficient, and optimized daily schedule. This position serves as the first point of in-office contact for patients, managing check-in, intake, and appointment scheduling with precision and professionalism.
The Scheduling Coordinator owns the appointment schedule and plays a key role in supporting provider productivity by accurately scheduling patients, understanding and following block scheduling guidelines, and proactively managing gaps, cancellations, and reschedules. This role works closely with the Patient Coordinator and Treatment Coordinator to ensure patient flow, schedule efficiency, and communication remain aligned throughout the day.
Strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential to ensure patients are scheduled appropriately and
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail and accuracy
Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn dental software
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA
Bi-lingual (Spanish)
Preferred Qualification:
Previous experience in a dental or medical front office
Exposure to insurance verification or benefits checking
Familiarity with Dentrix, EagleSoft, Open Dental, or similar systems
Interest in career growth within dental administration
