Summary:
The Network Engineer will plan, design, implement, and manage a government client infrastructure to ensure the stable and secure deployment & operation of client IT infrastructure. This role is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement of secure, highly available network systems supporting agency-wide initiatives and consolidation efforts. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco and Arista technologies
Responsibilities and Services:
- Provide 24x7 operational support for enterprise network infrastructure across multiple sites and data centers
- Monitor, analyze, and resolve network incidents in accordance with established SLAs and federal service delivery standards
- Configure and maintain Cisco (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR, FTD), Wireless and Arista EOS-based network devices
- Support secure network architectures in compliance with federal standards, including FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, and FedRAMP
- Implement and manage routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP) in segmented and high-availability environments
- Support data center and cloud networking technologies (VXLAN, EVPN, hybrid cloud connectivity)
- Perform network performance monitoring, capacity planning, and proactive optimization
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce network security policies, including ACLs, IDS/IPS integration, and boundary protection
- Participate in change management processes aligned with ITIL best practices
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and runbooks
- Support audit readiness activities, including documentation and remediation efforts
- Participate in on-call rotation and support incident response activities Assumes on-call responsibilities as needed to ensure SLAs are met.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship (required for federal contract compliance)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Secret Clearance (as required by contract)
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in network operations within enterprise or government environments
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies and Arista switching platforms and EOS
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Nagios)
- Familiarity with federal security and compliance requirements
- Experience with Arista CloudVision
- Experience and familiarity with Zero trust network access
