Required
II. Experience and Knowledge Required:
- Experience working with children and/or students, preferably in a learning environment, prior teaching experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrates a thorough grasp and commitment to BRAVE Academy mission and vision.
- Understands and follows all school policies.
- Enjoys teaching subject matter and working with students.
- Cooperative team player.
- May be required to lift up to 15 lbs. on occasion.
III. Key Responsibilities:
- Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.
- Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and in meal areas.
- Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the outline of the lesson plan and instructions from the regular Teacher.
- For long-term Substitutes: Develop lesson plans and assignments consistent with the regular teacher's past lesson plans in coordination with school leadership.
