What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Preschool Teacher position at Brattleboro Centre for Children?
The assistant in the preschool must be patient, animated, work as part of a teaching team, able to support children in the 3 to 5 year old age range in developing social-emotional and other developmentally appropriate skills and have a warm, caring approach to working with groups of children. This busy classroom is lively, full of many activities and children are supported to play and work together in a play-based learning environment.
Duties
Support children in learning, and developing relationships with each other. Helping with meals, bathroom, rest time, transitions and cleaning the classroom. Assisting Lead teacher with paperwork as required by the state. Following center policies and being a team player. Supervision of groups during the whole day. A full time, year round position.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a 45 hour course in child development. Professional development training as required by the state. Current CPR/1st aid card.
