Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Automotive Parts Manager to oversee the procurement, inventory, and distribution of automotive parts within our dealership or repair facility. This role involves managing supplier relationships, optimizing inventory levels, and coordinating logistics to meet customer demands efficiently. The Automotive Parts Manager will play a critical role in maintaining operational excellence and supporting our automotive service and repair departments.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire supply chain process for automotive parts, including sourcing, procurement, and demand planning.
- Oversee supplier management to ensure timely delivery of quality parts and negotiate favorable terms.
- Maintain accurate inventory control using ERP systems, CMMS, and order management systems.
- Coordinate warehouse management activities such as shipping & receiving, storage, and inventory rotation.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge to assist in sourcing specialized parts and troubleshooting issues.
- Supervise warehouse staff, forklift operators, and logistics personnel to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Implement pricing strategies based on market trends, OEM specifications, and dealership requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking while ensuring availability for customer service needs.
- Collaborate with automotive service teams to support auto body repair, automotive repair, equipment repair, and sourcing parts for manufacturing or repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards such as HVAC regulations when applicable.
- Maintain detailed data entry records related to procurement, inventory control, and order management for reporting purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in supply chain management within the automotive industry or dealership environment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, OEM parts sourcing, and automotive service processes.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems, ERP systems (including AS400), CMMS, and order management systems.
- Experience with procurement management, negotiation skills, and demand planning.
- Mechanical knowledge related to automotive repair and equipment repair is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely (certification preferred).
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry and inventory control.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
- Strong analytical skills for pricing strategies and logistics planning.
