Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including dementia and assisted living. This role is vital in promoting residents' well-being, safety, and independence. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient-centered care, excellent observation skills, and experience working with diverse populations such as seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those with memory care needs. Prior experience in long-term care, home health, or hospice care is highly valued. This position offers meaningful work that makes a positive difference in people's lives.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Monitor and record vital signs and patient observations to ensure health status is maintained or improved
- Assist with feeding when necessary
- Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease through specialized memory care techniques
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
- Observe and report any changes in residents' conditions or behaviors to supervisor promptly
- Assist with documentation related to patient care plans, behaviors and ADL's
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance residents' quality of life
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures
Qualifications
- Prior experience in senior care, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, hospice care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous
- Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance are a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for resident transfers or mobility assistance
- Strong patient observation skills and attention to detail for monitoring health status
- Excellent communication skills and compassionate nature to provide empathetic support
- Experience working with care plans, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team in various settings including assisted living facilities or home environments
- Valid driver’s license may be required for certain positions involving community-based services
