Brasfield & Gorrie has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Pipe Preconstruction Manager to assist with mechanical pipe self-perform pursuits across multiple divisions within our Heavy Civil market sectors.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Estimate construction costs for below grade and/or above grade mechanical pipe scopes.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for material and equipment for process piping systems and associated process equipment.
- Develop labor, material, equipment and subcontractor costs using historical data, industry trend and estimating software.
- Review plans, specifications, proposals and P&IDs to fully understand project scope, requirements and conditions.
- Solicit and review pricing for materials, equipment and specialized subcontractors
- Assist in the preparation of thorough, clearly structured, and detailed estimates and proposals for presentation to management, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge of piping systems, construction practices, and industry standards
Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience
Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor degree in construction, engineering, or related field; Or acceptable construction experience
- 3-10 years experience managing or estimating below grade and/or above grade mechanical pipe scopes.
- Experience in managing the construction or estimating construction costs for below grade and/or above grade mechanical pipe scopes.
- Knowledge of piping systems, construction practices, and industry standards
- Exceptional mathematical and analytical abilities
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Technical writing skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize resources
- Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
- Self-perform production knowledge
- Quantity survey experience
- Proficient knowledge of estimating software
- Experience representing company with industry and community organizations
