Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout.
Position Summary
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing commercial construction projects while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, client satisfaction, and profitability goals.
The ideal candidate has experience managing commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, or federal construction projects and possesses strong leadership, communication, budgeting, and scheduling skills.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage commercial construction projects from contract award through final completion
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts
- Coordinate owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
- Monitor project progress and proactively resolve project challenges
- Lead project meetings and provide regular project status updates
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards
Contract Administration
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation
- Review contract documents, specifications, and drawings
- Oversee project closeout activities, punch lists, warranties, and turnover documentation
- Maintain accurate project records and reporting
Financial Management
- Monitor construction budgets and project profitability
- Track costs, commitments, and forecasted expenditures
- Review subcontractor and vendor invoices
- Evaluate change order pricing and cost impacts
- Ensure projects meet or exceed targeted profit margins
Subcontractor & Vendor Management
- Solicit, evaluate, negotiate, and award subcontract packages
- Build and maintain relationships with qualified subcontractors and suppliers
- Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, quality, and safety
- Coordinate procurement and material deliveries
Safety & Quality
- Promote a culture of safety and compliance
- Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety standards
- Conduct project quality reviews and site inspections
- Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout project execution
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in one of the following: Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction, Related Construction or Engineering Discipline
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of commercial construction project management experience
- Experience managing commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, municipal, or federal construction projects
- Proven history of delivering projects on schedule and within budget
- Experience managing subcontractors, project schedules, and construction budgets
- Demonstrated success achieving project profitability, safety, and quality objectives
- Willingness to travel as required
Technical Skills
Experience with the following software is preferred: Bluebeam Revu, Primavera P6, Revit, Microsoft Excel (Advanced), AIA Contract Documents, Microsoft Teams and video conferencing platforms
