Brant Beach Yacht Club (BBYC), one of Long Beach Island’s most vibrant and cherished waterfront communities, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Sailing Programs Director to lead our Junior and Adult Sailing Programs for the 2026 season and beyond!

What You’ll Do
As the Sailing Programs Director, you will lead all aspects of BBYC’s youth and adult sailing programs, including:
Program Leadership & Instruction
- Oversee all Junior and Adult Sailing Programs and racing teams
- De
- velop and deliver engaging, level-appropriate curriculum & lesson plans
- Organize fun, safe, and effective on-water and on-land instruction
- Manage daily schedules, activities, practices, and emergency procedures
Staff Leadership & Culture Building
- Train, mentor, and supervise instructors, race coaches, and instructors-in-training
- Conduct pre-season training and end-of-season evaluations
- Foster a positive, energetic, team-oriented learning environment
Operations & Administration
- Manage attendance, progress reports, equipment logs, and repair needs
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, rules, and club policies
- Support parents through clear, confident communication
Regatta Management
- Organize BBYC’s Interclub Regatta and support other BBYC-hosted regattas
- Arrange youth participation in interclubs and travel events
- Lead and supervise offsite regattas and represent BBYC with professionalism
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate brings strong sailing knowledge, natural leadership, and a passion for youth development.
Required Skills & Qualities
- 3–5 years sailing instruction, coaching, or youth program leadership
- US Sailing Small Boat Level 1 Certification or higher
- CPR/First Aid/AED certified (BBYC may offer on-site training)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A calm, positive, energized presence—even under pressure
- Excellent organization and multi-tasking abilities
- Ability to participate in physically demanding activities
- Experience handling behavioral challenges and mediating conflicts
- A genuine passion for fostering team spirit and a love for sailing
