What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance/Farm hand position at Bransons Promised Land Zoo?
Branson’s Promised Land Zoo is looking for a dependable, hardworking Maintenance / Farm Hand to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is comfortable with hands-on work, and can handle a variety of maintenance and farm-related tasks in a zoological environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the zoo.
- Assist with fencing, gates, enclosures, buildings, and other facility projects.
- Help with farm and grounds maintenance, cleaning, hauling, and upkeep.
- Assist with construction and renovation projects as needed.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Assist with animal-area maintenance while following all zoo safety procedures.
- Complete physically demanding tasks and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, including significant heat and cold.
- Must be able to regularly lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Must have reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Must be comfortable performing physical labor for extended periods.
- Must be willing to work around animals, mud, dust, manure, and other outdoor conditions.
- Must be able to follow safety procedures and instructions.
- Must be dependable, hardworking, and willing to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Framing or construction experience
- General carpentry experience
- Fencing experience
- Welding or metalwork experience
- Farm, ranch, landscaping, or groundskeeping experience
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Previous maintenance experience
