What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carpenter position at Branscum Construction?
Branscum Construction Company, Inc. is a progressive firm offering Construction Management, Design/Build Services, and General Contracting with Corporate Offices in Kentucky. We are a quality builder of Commercial, Institutional, and Industrial buildings seeking highly qualified applicants in Kentucky and other states as needed.
Job Duties:
- Build, repair, demolition of rough structure and conforming to Local Building codes and OSHA safety regulations.
- Study and understand blueprints and plans while demonstrating the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Safe use of tools and equipment
- Accurate utilization of construction measuring instruments and special tools as they relate to a building structure, grounds and building materials, with ability to calculate quantities, sizes, distances, etc.
- Adhere to company rules and regulations
Requirements:
- Preferred five (5) years' experience in commercial construction
- Good communication skills at all levels
- Strong work ethic
- Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures
- Able to work in high stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations
- Reliable transportation to job sites
General Work Requirements:
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet)
- Able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds without assistance
- Able to perform work on uneven surfaces; frequently climb ladders, on/off equipment and work from various heights
- Able and willing to walk, stand bend, and sit for long periods of time
- Able to use your hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling
- Follow safety policies and procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment required for the job in a safe manner.
