Major Role and Purpose:
- Operates asphalt plant to batch, crush and/or segregate materials used in construction
- Assist with assembling, adjusting, maintaining, repairing and disassembling plant equipment as needed
- Moves controls to heat, dry, mix ingredients to produce asphalt paving materials
- Control weighing, feeding, crushing and sifting machinery
- Observes gauges, dials and operation of machinery to ensure conformance with specifications
- Basic knowledge regarding the use of computers in plant operation
- May repair and/or make adjustments to the machinery
- Uses various hand tools
- Basic mechanical skills to assist with plant maintenance
- Oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment
- Yard maintenance
- Travel to and from the different plants
- Monitors the activity within the site
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned
- High School Diploma / GED
- Previous Construction / Manufacturing / Plant Operator experience preferred.
- Job requires the following motions: stretching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, walking, standing, reaching and squatting
- Walking or standing may occupy the entire day
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Potential exposure to extremes of hot or cold weather
- Overtime work is required
- Valid Driver's License with transportation to and from job sites.
