Construction Estimator
Location: Williamsburg, VA
Major Role and Purpose:
- Provide complex construction cost estimates for complete site construction projects.
Reports to: Chief Estimator
Description of Duties:
- Foster and maintain relationships with contractors, developers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Locate, procure, and prioritize bidding opportunities.
- Develop and maintain cost structures for bidding.
- Quantity take off.
- Bid preparation and costing.
- Bid opportunity tracking from location through award.
- Contract negotiation and review.
- Schedule project work activity with field supervisors and management team.
- Facilitate work efficiency to maintain profit goals.
- Perform other tasks as necessary.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in building construction preferred.
- A comparable combination of education and experience in a construction company.
Work Experience/Qualifications:
- Effective organizational, management and writing skills.
- Knowledge and experience with HCSS construction software.
- Knowledge in VDOT specifications.
- Knowledge in construction practices.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Physical Demands:
- Job requires the following motions: driving, standing, sitting, squatting, reaching, pulling/pushing, and lifting.
- Required to drive.
