What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits and Resource Navigator position at Brandywine Valley Active Aging?
This full-time position is based out of our BVAA–Phoenixville Campus, with opportunities to make an impact throughout Chester County.
Brandywine Valley Active Aging is looking for a compassionate, organized, and resourceful professional to join our Information & Assistance team as a Benefits & Resource Navigator.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people navigate programs and services that can sometimes feel overwhelming. You’ll work directly with older adults, families, and caregivers to connect them with valuable community resources and benefits while helping them maintain their independence and quality of life.
In this role, you’ll provide Information & Assistance services, help individuals identify and apply for available County, State, and Federal programs, and connect clients with community resources. You’ll also provide Medicare counseling and benefits enrollment assistance through BVAA’s Benefits Enrollment Center, helping eligible individuals access programs such as SNAP, Medicaid, LIHEAP, Extra Help, and other benefits.
We’re looking for someone who is professional, compassionate, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently and as part of a team, and committed to serving a diverse community. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, although comparable education and experience will be considered. Strong communication and computer skills, confidentiality, accuracy, and the ability to travel throughout Chester County are also important.
This is a full-time, exempt position with a typical 40-hour workweek. The schedule may occasionally include evenings or weekends for outreach and special events. Benefits include vacation, sick and holiday pay, as well as participation in BVAA’s company-matched SIMPLE IRA retirement plan.
💙 If you’re passionate about helping people find the resources they need and want your work to make a real difference in the lives of older adults, we’d love to hear from you!
