Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Attendant to join our veterinary clinic and pet care team. Responsibilities
- Feed, water, and monitor animals’ health and behavior throughout the day
- Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain a sanitary environment
- Assist with animal grooming, including bathing and brushing as needed
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to prevent injury or stress
- Observe animals for signs of illness or distress and report findings to veterinary staff
- Provide pet sitting services, including exercise, playtime, and companionship
- Support veterinary technicians and assistants with routine tasks as directed
- Ensure heavy lifting of supplies or animals is performed safely following proper procedures
- Maintain detailed records of animal care activities and behaviors
Skills
- Experience in dog training, pet grooming, or pet sitting is a plus
- Veterinary experience such as veterinary technician or assistant background is highly desirable
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills to ensure safety for both animals and staff
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with pet owners
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling supplies or animals
- Knowledge of animal care best practices and pet health needs
