What You'll Do as a Peer Recovery Specialist with ATDC:
- Provide peer recovery support services that provide emotional and practical support to maintain client/participant remission
- Ensure 100% of all clients will be screened and assessed for social determinants of health (SDOH) needs as part of Peer-Provided Recovery Support Services within 10 days of program entry
- Ensure 100% of uninsured clients will be assisted in applying for health insurance and any other appropriate entitlement for which they are eligible within 45 days of assessment and ICP creation.
- Assist the clients in gaining entitlements and accessing resources within the community
- Provide guidance and assist clients in overcoming barriers and challenges in their recovery journey
- Act as case managers and will assist clients in obtaining resources such as food, vouchers, housing, linkage to employment services, childcare, and social services.
- Leads as well as teaches clients how to facilitate their recovery. Educate and empower individuals by assisting them in developing a strong, stable recovery support system
- Assisting individuals with self-care and self-awareness, encouragement and support, teaching coping skills and teaching the positive benefits of long-term recovery
- Utilizes and teaches problem-solving techniques with individuals and groups.
Qualifications for the position are:
- REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED
- REQUIRED: Must be a Peer.
- BCCS employs a diverse workforce, and we especially encourage applications from those who are in recovery. This position requires that the candidate chosen for it is a peer. BCCS defines a peer as anyone who is in recovery from addiction to drugs or alcohol.
- REQUIRED: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS)
- REQUIRED: 6 Month’s Experience in Substance Abuse/Mental Health
- Monday: 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
- Tuesday - Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- Friday: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- From $18/hour
- Commensurate based on experience, education, and certification!
